Zadar CRO Melges 24 Cup won by crew Razjaren

The Zadar CRO Melges 24 Cup, as the second stop of this year's CRO Melges 24 Cup season, offered a superb and even regatta in line with the reputation of the Croatian sailing ‘Champions League'. Although there was no sailing on Saturday due to the bad weather, the organizers from JK Uskok made up for it all on Sunday, when for the first time in the CRO M24 Cup regattas as many as four sailings took place. Among the 21 registered crews, Razjaren with helmsman Anto Ćesić celebrated in front of Universitas Nova with helmsman Ivan Kljaković Gašpić, while Cro-a-Sail with helmsman Darko Hajdinjak won the third place on the podium.

"As we rested on land on Saturday, we had our 'super Sunday' at sea on Sunday. We held four sailings between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. A busy program, but I think that everyone can be satisfied with the conditions at sea and the good organization of the Uskok Sailing Club. Our crew Razjaren registered two victories and two second places, but in every sailing we had a great fight with Ivan Kljaković Gašpić, Darko Hajdinjak and Luka Šangulin. In the end, only five points separated the first four crews, which shows how 'thick' it was on the regatta field", said Ante Ćesić.

In the Corinthian category, as well as at the season opener in Biograd, the winner was Blue Label with helmsman Hrvoje Petrović ahead of Amor with helmsman Luka Piasevoli and Tutta Forza with helmsman Nik Jakovčev. The next CRO Melges 24 Cup regatta will be sailed from April 5 to 7 in Opatija, where a large number of foreign crews traditionally come, so it is realistic to expect 30 Melges on the regatta field in Kvarner.
