Adria Docks stronger for the new state-of-the-art hybrid floating dock

Leading Croatian superyacht refit shipyard Adria Docks, based in Trogir, is boosting its operational flexibility primarily for superyacht refit activities with the multimillion euro purchase of a new state-of-the-art hybrid floating dock. The company is also making other investments to upgrade its superyacht refit facilities.

The new dock will have a lift capacity of 2,500 tonnes for superyachts up to 85m(279ft), is being built in Bulgaria and has been designed by a famous Turkish design company. It is due to be completed by autumn 2025 will increase Adria’s flexibility by being a mid-size dock, in between ones of 850 tonnes capacity for yachts up to 64m(210ft) and 8,500 tonnes up to 150m(492ft).

The purchase of the dock follows a period of market research, brainstorming, development, and negotiations, marking a significant investment in the company’s infrastructure.

Stjepan Lučin, CEO of Adria Docks d.o.o., told IBI: “This is a strategic investment in key infrastructure, a huge step ahead which shall give us more flexibility in our business, especially in the most sophisticated projects of superyacht painting. The value of the investment is always a sensitive topic but we can say only that the complete cost for the company is over ten millions of EUR. We have invested recently in a mobile boat trolley capable to transfer yachts up to 580 tons of weight; it is in operation since February 2024. We have also invested a significant amount in construction of nine technical berths for yachts up to 90m(295ft).“
