Finnish builder launches new electric boat

Following the launch of its first fully electric boat last year, Finland’s Bella Boats has introduced its latest model - the Bella Zero 6.1. The fully electric open boat has a planing hull with an electric fully tiltable outboard engine on the bathing platform and a full-size sunbed. It is designed for higher speeds than its predecessor (20kt compared with 11kt on the Bella Zero 6.3) and is comfortable and easy to handle.

The Bella Zero 6.1 engine has a power of 33kW (45hp) in continuous effect (max power 47kW), and is equipped with a 96V lithium-ion battery of 25,9 kWh. Bella Zero is CE certified and the battery is IP67 approved. Operating maintenance costs for Bella Zero is very low. A full ‘tank’ costs around €2. The battery is recharged in 12 hours in a 10A socket and it lasts over six hours at a speed of 5kt. Also new is the possibility to charge the battery in a 6A socket and, as before,  in 16A socket (nine hours).

Bella says it has taken the opportunity to upgrade Bella Zero 6.3 after the learnings from last summer. The new model has been upgraded with a wider pulpit and electric gas throttle. The engine has a closed loop cooling system and the startup and shutdown system has been simplified, making it very easy to handle.  While Bella Zero was previously only available to purchase online, it is now also available directly at various dealer locations.
