Polish builder to launch first motoryacht under new brand

Poland’s Stillo Yachts is developing its offer through the opening of a new production hall where it plans to build motorboats under a new brand, Gomorra Yachts, according to company representatives. Cezary Jeremicz, a spokesperson for Stillo Yachts, told IBI  the new brand will comprise high-quality motorboats. The company has developed its first prototype, Gomorra 8.0, and plans to launch the model next year.

“We will start offering this day cruiser in the domestic market, but, in the long-term, it will also be made available to customers in other regions, such as Western Europe and Scandinavia,” he said.

Stillo Yachts is focused on developing sales in the Polish market, but the boatbuilder also exports its yachts to Germany and Hungary, among others. In Germany, the business has a dealer in Hilden, in the country’s state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The new production hall is located in Giżycko, in Poland’s north-eastern part, where the company operates its shipyard.

“Owing to the new production hall, we could build a total of 15 Stillo yachts per year, and a further 10 Gomorra yachts per year,” according to Jeremicz.

The company representative said that Gomorra is designed to “be a boutique brand, offering a high quality paired with excellent servicing for each yacht.”

“The boat will be assigned a competitive price, but we’re basing it on years of experience with making technologically advanced boats,” he said.

In its standard version, Gomorra 8.0 is equipped with an engine fitted with a capacity of 350 hp, according to data from the boatbuilder. The motor yacht can accommodate up to 10 persons.  At the same time, Stillo Yachts is readying to roll out a new model under its main brand in 2023.

“Our plans for next year include launching a new Stillo Yachts model. This boat will be a flybridge motor yacht with a length of up to 40 feet,” Jeremicz said.

The new boat would replace Stillo 30 as the company’s flagship. The motoryacht offers three cabins, and it can be fitted with diesel engines enabled with a capacity of between 21 and 85 hp, as indicated by figures released by the company. Stillo Yachts also allows its customers to purchase boats fitted with electric and hybrid engines.

Asked about the new brand’s name and the philosophy behind Gomorra Yachts, Jeremicz said that the name is “strong”, and that the company is currently collecting opinions from prospective customers to see how they respond to it. Depending on the feedback, the company could decide to change the brand’s name, he said.

Stillo Yachts has a sister chartering company, Arca Yacht, which operates a fleet of yachts, including craft made by Stillo Yachts. The boats are available in the country’s north-eastern Masuria region, a popular destination for local seafarers offering about 2,000 lakes. It is estimated that, in the course of each season, the region’s lakes attract 30,000 to 40,000 seafarers per day.

The Giżycko-based company is a member of the country’s yacht insustry association POLBOAT. Over the past years, Stillo Yachts has invested its own capital to develop the company’s production capacities, but also funds secured from the European Union’s Cohesion Funds for local businesses.
