Home team Mataran 24 celebrated at Cro Melges 24 Cup in Trogir
Mataran 24 is the winner of the Trogir Outdoor Festival CRO Melges 24 Cup regatta, which last weekend opened this year's edition of the festival in the city of masters. At the last regatta of the first part of the season of the strongest Croatian competition, organized by the Trogir Sailing Club, 20 crews from three countries (Croatia, the Czech Republic and Poland) performed a full program of six sailings.
The home team Mataran 24 had a fantastic weekend, celebrating the exciting end of the regatta in front of Universitas Nova – Barb Zlatan and Panjić. It was the second victory for Trogir in the CRO Melges 24 Cup this year after the triumph at the season opener in Biograd.
"Winning at home is the hardest and sweetest at the same time. With all the challenges and logistical requirements of the organization of the regatta, our celebration at the foot of Kamerlengo was the icing on the cake of a great sailing weekend,' emphasized Matarana 24 member Ivo Matić.
The first part of the season in the CRO Melges 24 Cup has ended, but before the autumn excitement and the European Championship in Split, Mataran 24 will travel to San Francisco where they will defend the world title in the Corinthian division.
"The project is in the finalization phase. We found a boat in the USA that we will rent for the WC. We are traveling to America in mid-August and we hope for good results,' announced Ivo Matić.
At the Trogir Outdoor Festival CRO Melges 24 Cup, the first victory in the Corinthian division was achieved by Little A crew ahead of Sugar Daddy and Tutto Forza.
