The 22nd Kornati Cup confirmed that sailing is a great passion

Organized by Pitter Yachtcharter, J.K.KUN Yacht Club and Kornati Yacht Club, the 22nd Kornati Cup was held from April 29 to May 4, which became a fixture on the regatta calendar. The motto of this year's Kornati Cup was "Sailing is a passion". Team spirit, passion for sailing, togetherness, fun, love for life - all of this was felt by the teams during the last days spent in Croatia.

There were 89 boats with 557 participants from ten countries in a total of seven classes. The route led from Biograd via Murter back to Biograd. The planned race in the Kornati National Park had to be postponed due to winds of up to 35 knots, but the participants were able to enjoy activities on land that day.

Of course, the class winners, seven of them, had the most reason to celebrate. In the Bavaria Cruiser 41S class the primacy was taken by the crew of the German sailboat Ciao led by Stefan Klotzing, in the Bavaria Cruiser 41 class the Austrian Schmierer Gerold celebrated, in the Bavaria Cruiser 46 class the first place went to the German Rink Hendrik, in the ORC with and without spinnaker victory was taken by the Trinity+ sailboat with skipper Schich Peter, in the Charter ORC class with spinnaker the first place went to the Latvian Andrea led by Pervuskins Sergejs, in the Charter ORC class without spinnaker the Austrian Elaya D with helmsman Marko Merlo was the best, and in the MOCRA class in which the first place won the Austrian Kale with skipper Johann Buchinger.

The grand finale of the regatta was organized at the open swimming pool in Biograd, where all participants danced to good music, and the winners were celebrated until the early hours of the morning.

The Kornati Cup aims to combine the fun of the regatta with the social part and introduce the participants to the beautiful part of the Kornati archipelago. This event also marks the beginning of the charter season. The sports part consisted of a good combination of short and medium races through the beautiful Kornati archipelago, which was extremely interesting from a navigation point of view. In addition to the sports part, the Kornati Cup also confirmed itself as a social event, so there was no lack of entertainment on the mainland either, with live bands and DJs providing real evening entertainment.
