Frauscher launches updated version of 650 Alassio electric yacht

Eleven years after it was first introduced and after 250 units sold, Austria’s Frauscher Bootswerft is launching a completely updated version of its successful 650 Alassio electric yacht. Frauscher describes the 650 Alassio as Europe’s most successful premium electric yacht, and after its 11-year history the company believes now is a good time for the second-generation version. Pre-orders for the new model, which is due to begin deliveries in April 2022, are now invited.

In a press statement Frauscher says: “The new Frauscher 650 Alassio defends its position at the top of the market with a multitude of updates. Highlights in design, user-friendliness, and workmanship continue to set the model apart from the crowd.”

Managing director Michael Frauscher, responsible for the development and production of the new edition, explains: “After 250 units produced, it was time to take the 650 Alassio to a new level, to give it a more valuable look and more intense feel.”

Among the new features is a completely redesigned dashboard and the latest entertainment options from Fusion Marine and JL Audio. Large touchscreens allow for easy operation and provide an uncluttered appearance. In the cockpit, guests can enjoy a spacious seating arrangement and diamond quilting is available as an option on the wide upholstery.

The teak covering the bow, the floor, and the bathing platform is now standard on every Frauscher 650 Alassio. For the side profile of the boat, the designers followed that set by the Frauscher 1212 Ghost with its typical air intakes. They also redesigned the windscreen, provided for optional LED ambient lighting, and gave the stainless steel applications a redesign. With two additional retractable stainless steel cleats, it is now easier to moor the Frauscher 650 Alassio.

Additionally, Frauscher engineers have added other innovations such as the engine compartment below the generous sun pad which is now electrically operated, facilitating access to the storage space next to the batteries or to fold out the bimini sunshade. As part of its premium rating, the 650 Alassio can now be fitted with an optional bow thruster and other options comprise a generous refrigerator, a high-end audio system, a teak table for the cockpit, and optional metallic paint in a choice of colours. As part of the model’s second generation, the 650 Alassio has four engine options from 4.3kW-60kW power and battery capacities from 10kWh-40kWh.

“For shallow waters, we have developed a special version with a draught of only 45cm (1.5ft),” explains Frauscher. The new 650 Alassio will undertake a presentation tour this summer.
